Child and youth therapy is (partly) reimbursed from health insurance and falls under ‘alternatieve zorg’. Whether you qualify for this depends on how you are insured. You can check this with your health insurer.

Your health insurer can tell you more if your policy covers child and youth therapy. By doing this you are well informed about your options. You can find an overview of health insurers on the website of the Nederlandse Federatie Gezondheidszorg.

Child and Youth Therapy Wereldkind and the therapist has her personal, identification codes, called ‘AGB-codes’. Your health insurer can find my practice with these numbers. You can find them at the end of this page. 

It is also possible to do child and youth therapy if you have a budget from the ‘gemeente’, the municipality where you live. It is called ‘Persoonsgebonden Budget’. If you think that your child needs care and you would like to have financial support for this, you can contact the ‘Gemeente’. This budget gives you the option to choose your own care and support from a therapist you choose.

It is also an option to deduct the costs for psychotherapy from your taxes. It falls under ‘buitengewone lasten’ depending on your income. Please, contact the tax authorities for more information.
